About Me
Qualifications & Experience
I hold an M.A. in Existential Psychotherapy & Counselling from the University of Sheffield. I’m an accredited member of UKCP (United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy) and the Society of Existential Analysis, and I work within their ethical frameworks.
I’ve worked as a psychotherapist for over sixteen years. My early clinical experience includes student counselling at London Metropolitan University and four years in NHS primary care in Croydon and Lambeth. For the past twelve years I’ve run a busy private practice in central London, working with adults across a wide range of backgrounds and life stages.
My Approach
I work integratively, drawing on different approaches to meet each client’s needs. My core training is existential psychotherapy — a way of working that explores meaning, choice, responsibility, and change, and recognises that periods of crisis can also be turning points.
I was drawn to psychotherapy through my own experience of being helped by a good therapist to understand my family dynamics and how my past was shaping my relationships and sense of self. That experience led to a lasting interest in psychoanalytic and attachment-informed ideas — how early relationships shape us, and how we can build more secure ones in the present.
My style is thoughtful, collaborative, and non-pathologising.
Neurodiversity, Identity & Affirmative Practice
I’m gay/queer and autistic, and I work affirmatively with LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent clients, as well as kink, poly, and ethically non-monogamous clients. I also welcome clients who don’t identify with any of these groups but value an open, reflective therapeutic space.
As a late-diagnosed autistic person, I have a particular interest in supporting neurodivergent adults, including those exploring possible autism or ADHD. This work has deepened my belief that psychotherapy can help all of us understand and work with our individual temperament and traits, rather than struggling against them.
You can read more on my Autism and Late Diagnosis page.
Creativity, Writing & Bibliotherapy
Before retraining as a psychotherapist, I worked for many years in book publishing. I remain interested in bibliotherapy, the healing power of stories and the written word, and I maintain an ongoing writing practice.
I particularly enjoy working with writers and other creatives, and supporting people to develop their voice and potential. I also write The Neurodivergent Couch, a Substack exploring the meeting point between psychotherapy, creativity, and neurodiversity.
Practice Locations
I see clients in Pimlico (central London) and Chiswick (West London), as well as online.
